Bio:
Destina Bermejo was born and raised in Ogden, Utah. She earned her B.A. in Global Justice and Identity in 2019 at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah. She earned a M.A. in Latin American Studies at the University of Arizona, Tucson, in 2021. As a current Ph.D. student at UC Merced, her research focus continues toward Indigeneity and migration/displacement within the regions of Central America. She is interested in knowing more about these relations with Indigeneity in Mexico and the United States. She is a Ronald E. McNair Scholar from Westminster. She enjoys civic engagement such as community work and volunteering.
